- Andy’s Bicycle Company (ABC) has the hottest new product on the upscale toy market—boys’ and girls’ bikes in bright fashion colors, with oversize hubs and axles; shell design safety tires; strong padded frames; chrome-plated chains, brackets, and valves; and non-slip handlebars. Due to the seller’s market for high-quality toys for the newest baby boomers, ABC can sell all the bicycles it manufactures at the following prices: boys’ bikes, $220; girls’ bikes, $175. This is the price payable to ABC at its Orlando plant. The firm’s accountant, V. R. Dondeti, has determined that direct labor costs will be 45% of the price that ABC receives for the boys’ model and 40% of the price received for the girls’ model. Production costs, other than labor but excluding painting and packaging, are $44 per boys’ bicycle and $30 per girls’ bicycle. Painting and packaging are $20 per bike, regardless of model. The Orlando plant’s overall production capacity is 390 bicycles per day. Each boys’…arrow_forwardcreate a spreadsheet in Excel on the following. - Another way to look at the concept of inventory turnover is by measuring sales per square foot. Taking the average inventory at retail and dividing it by the number of square feet devoted to a particular product will give you average sales per square foot. When you multiply this figure by the inventory turnover rate, you get the annual sales per square foot. It is important to know the amount of sales per square foot your merchandise is producing, both on average and annually. These figures should be tracked monthly and compared with industry standards for businesses of similar size and type. You own a large multi product electronics store in a regional mall. The store has 10,600 square feet of selling space divided into five departments. (a) From the table below, calculate the average and annual sales (in $) per square foot. Then calculate the annual sales (in $) for each department and the total sales (in $) for the entire store. The situation is compounded by the fact that most of the people who work under Raymond are asking to be transferred while Raymond feels that his department is not overstaffed. He feels that Ganesh is interfering with his duties while Ganesh is sure that Raymond would do well with a leaner workforce. Jay, the director, has to help resolve the conflict between two managers after they bitterly confront each other in his presence.
