Concept Introduction:
Chiral center: The tetrahedral carbon atoms that have four different substituents. Each chiral center in a molecule will be either R or S.
R-S Configuration: The right and left hand nomenclature is used to name the enantiomers of a chiral compound. The stereocenters are indicated as R, S. The lowest group is in front of this arrow the assignment is reversed clockwise is (S) and counter clockwise is (R).
To identify: The given set of molecule (a and b) chirality and configuration should be determined.
