Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation:

For the given set of molecules, the isomeric relationship should be identified.

Concept Introduction: Geometric isomerism also known as cis-trans isomerism or (E-Z) isomerism is a form of stereoisomerism.

The cis indicates that the functional groups are on the same side of the carbon chain while trans conveys that functional groups are on opposing sides of the carbon chain.

The difference between cis and trans is that the two H atoms are on the same side of the double bond (cis), compared to being on opposite sides (trans).

The two identical groups connected to the same vinylic position. Therefore, this compound is not stereoisomeric.

To find: The cis, trans and non- stereoisomeric centers for the given molecule by using its E-Z nomenclature method.

(e) Suppose the outermost electron of a potassium atom were excited to a 4d orbital and then moved to each of these same orbitals.
