Introduction:

Enzymes are mainly made up of proteins. They are involved in reaction catalysis and increase the rate of a biochemical reaction. The region where the substrate molecule binds toan enzyme is called an active site. The active site is very small and contains conserved sequences. It directly participates in the catalytic activity of the enzyme. The remaining bulkypart of the enzymeis not a part of the active site.
