• $\underset{\text{x}\to \infty }{\text{lim}}{\text{cot}}^{\text{-1}}\text{x=π}$ and $\underset{\text{x}\to \infty }{\text{lim}}{\text{cot}}^{\text{-1}}\text{x=0}$

Given information: Function:- ${\text{f(x) = cot}}^{\text{-1}}\text{x}$ .

Calculation: Obtain a graph of ${\text{f(x) = cot}}^{\text{-1}}\text{x}$ as shown:

  

The $x$ -values extend to the left and to the right so the domain is all real numbers:

The $y$ -values have an interval from $0$ to $\pi$ , inclusive, so range is:

The graph is continuous on its domain (no gaps or breaks) and is decreasing. The graph has neither symmetry so it is neither and even nor odd function. The graph is bounded above as well as below.

There is no local extreme (maximum or minimum).

There are horizontal asymptotes at $y=0$ and $y=\pi$ .

There are no vertical asymptotes.
