Question
Chapter 44.7, Problem 10LO
Summary Introduction
To trace: A drop of blood through the pulmonary and systemic circulations, naming in sequence each structure through which it passes.
Introduction: Most of the vertebrates have two types of circulation including pulmonary and systemic circulation in blood vessels. Pulmonary circulation circulates the deoxygenated blood to the lungs, to make it oxygenated and then it passes the blood to the heart. Systemic circulation circulates the oxygenated blood from the heart to the other body tissues and then carries the deoxygenated blood back to the heart.

In flowchart form, trace the pathway of the blood in the systemic circulation. (Example: Trace the flow of blood from the tongue to the right thigh. Note that the blood also passes the pulmonary circulation)
Make a complete blood flow tracing using the illustration:
a) from the caudal fin tail and back to the heart
b) from the intestine, back to the heart, to the urinary bladder
Differentiate an artery from a vein. Include a description of the reason why they are different structurally.
