Given information:
9 ft. wide carpet is 30 ft. longer than 15 ft. wide carpet.
Area for both rolls is same.
Let
The length of the 15 ft. wide carpet be x .
Then
The length of 9 ft. wide carpet be x + 30.
Since both rolls have same area.
Thus,
That becomes
Subtract 9x from both sides:
Divide both sides by 6:
Thus,
The length of 15ft. wide carpet is 45 ft.
We have
The length of 9ft. wide carpet is 30ft. longer than 15ft. wide carpet
Then
The length of 9ft. wide carpet is 75ft.
