Interpretation: A control chart is used to detect the variations in a process.

Concept introduction:

A mean control chart (x¯) is based on nominal distribution. The means are in the control limits which is derived from the value of standard deviation of a process σ which is often known.

R charts are utilized to monitor the variation of a procedure based on samples brought from the process at a provided period. Variable shiftsare measures and detected by R charts. To monitor the variation the processR charts control limits may be applied.
