Introduction:

The power saw drawsa large amount of current in the garage as compared to the current in the lightbulbs in the house. It increases the potential difference across the power saw but the potential difference across the lightbulbs is reduced.

The lights in the house get dim when both the power saw and the light bulbs in the house run in parallel circuit with each other. This increases the potential difference across the saw but decreases the potential difference across the light bulbs.
