Introduction:
Bow waves are produced when the speed of the object is greater than the speed of the waves it produces.
When the angle between the V shape of the bow wave is narrow, the speed of the bug is the highest. The given waves are shown below.
Here, in figure D, bow waves are produced such as the speed of the bug crosses the waves it produced. Thus, it produces the least V angle of the bow waves. Hence, the highest speed attained is of D.
In figure C, bow waves are produced with a greater angle of V shape. Thus, second highest speed.
Similarly, B will have third greatest and A will have the least speed of the bug.
Conclusion:
Thus, the rank from greatest to least based on the speed of the bug is D>C>B>A.
