Introduction:
Disturbance generated due to vibration in a medium produces a wave.
When the medium in which wave propagates moves across it i.e. in the perpendicular direction, then the wave is known as a transverse wave. It moves like a sine wave. For example, an electromagnetic waves.
When the medium in which wave propagates moves along with it i.e. in the parallel direction, then the wave is known as a longitudinal wave. It moves in the to and fro motion i.e. in left and right direction. For example, a sound waves.
Conclusion:
The medium of the transverse wave moves in the right angle direction and the longitudinal wave moves along with the wave.
