To Explain:Shield is necessary around the signal wire.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
A magnetic field is associated with current. As the signal varies with time, this magnetic field also varies. If there is a presence of external magnetic field nearby, they would interact causing an interference in the signal (noise).
A shield is necessary to disable this interaction reducing the chance of noise. Also, it a shield protects machinery and people operating it from getting accidently electrocuted.
In a shield cable both, total current in the wire and shield combination, are zero. So, to outside there will be no magnetic field formed (by the combination).
