Introduction:
An eddy current separator makes use of a powerful magnetic field to segregate non-ferrous metals from waste after all ferrous metals are removed earlier by magnets. The eddy currents affect the separation.
The eddy current separator is used with a conveyor belt which carries a layer of mixed waste. At the end this belt, an eddy current rotor is there. The non-ferrous metals get thrown forward into a bin, while non-metals fall off the belt because of gravity.a
