Introduction:

The mitochondria aredouble-membraned cell organelles, which act as the main site for the aerobic metabolism of the body. These organelles are also involved in various metabolic processes such as the β-oxidation of fatty acids. The mitochondria have a naked deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and the number of mitochondria in a cell depends on its function.
