Introduction:

The heart is the major organ of the circulatory system present between the lungs (mediastinum) and is situated in the thorax, costal to the cartilage and posterior to the sternum. It rests on the superior surface of the diaphragm. The apex of the heart is present left of the midsternal line and anterior to other parts of the heart. The heart has four corners which include superior left, superior right, inferior left, and inferior right.
