Introduction:

Any mechanism involved in correcting errors produced in a nucleic acid or protein synthesis is termed as proofreading. Based on the addition or removal of incorrect events or subunits, it is of two types: kinetic proofreading and chemical proofreading. This process involves joining of amino acids to transfer ribonucleic acids (tRNAs) as the first step in protein synthesis and makes use of enzymes known as aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases.
