Introduction:
There are 20standard amino acids that code for proteins, but two nonstandard amino acids have been found that can be incorporated into polypeptides during protein synthesis. These are selenocysteine and pyrolysine. The codon for selenocysteine (Sec) is UGA and codon for pyrolysine (Pyl) is UAG.
