Introduction:
The protein content of anindividual is synthesized in the endoplasmic reticulum by the ribosomes. The proteins are then transported from the endoplasmic reticulum to their specific destination. This mechanism occurs onlyin the eukaryotes. The prokaryotes have a different mechanism by which proteins are signaled. This is because prokaryotes are unicellular and thus do not have manylocationsfor thetransport of proteins.
