Introduction:

DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) replication is the process thatoccurs in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It leads to the synthesis of two similar DNA molecules from one parental strand in a semiconservative manner. Both eukaryotes and prokaryotes have different mechanisms for replication of their genetic material. The replication of DNA in prokaryotes take months whereas it takes only a few hours in eukaryotes.
