The role of fructose-2, 6-phosphate as an allosteric effector is to be explained.
Concept introduction:
Allosteric effectors are the molecules that bind with the active site of an enzyme, resulting in the conformational change of another active site of the same enzyme. After this change occurs, if they facilitate the corresponding reaction, then the effector is termed positive allosteric effector, but if it inhibits the reaction, then the effector is termed negative allosteric effector.
