Concept explainers
Interpretation: Methods to recognize equivalence point in a titration needs to be explained..
Concept introduction: Titration is the technique used to determine the concentration of unknown solution with the help of solution of known concentration.
Answer to Problem 3RQ
Equivalence point in a titration can be determined by the methods of colour change, pH change, formation of precipitate change in conductivity. But the end Point and equivalent point is not the same.
Explanation of Solution
Equivalence point in the titration is basically a point at which the titrant is added enough to completely neutralise the solution. End point indicates that the reaction is completed but the equivalence point is a point when acid and base neutralize each other just before end point.
There are multiple methods to identity equivalence point and it is different from end point.
