Question
Chapter 15.7, Problem 1CR
Summary Introduction
Green sulfur and green non-sulfur bacteria are named so because they contain a green pigment. This pigment is located in the photosynthetic apparatus known as chlorosomes. The purple sulfur bacteria can convert or reduce sulfate as well as other sulfur containing compounds to hydrogen sulfide therefore, they are called as purple sulfur bacteria.
