Interpretation:
The expected products obtained from the given reactions are to be predicted.
Concept introduction:
Carboxylic acid and alcohol reacts to form an ester when the reaction proceeds under acidic condition. This type of reaction is known as esterification reaction. If the carboxylic group and alcohol are present in the same hydrocarbon, then cyclic ester is formed. The cylic ester is known as lactone. In the presence of acid, ester and alcohol forms transester. This type of reaction is called transesterification reaction.

- Predict all possible products for the following reactions: please clearly show MAJOR product, MINOR product, and TRACE product (if it is possible theoretically but not expected to be observed). If no products are expected, please say NO REACTION: ? O₂N A NO₂ NO₂ HNO3 NO₂ H₂SO4 B NO₂ NO₂ O₂N C NO₂ D NO REACTIONarrow_forwardFor the following reaction there are three (3) possible products. Two of the products are expected to be minor and one product is expected to be a major product. Br H₂O Name and draw out the step-by-step mechanisms by which each of the products is formed.
