Interpretation:
Prepare a PowerPoint, poster, or other presentation (as directed by your instructor) to share with the class.
Divide your class into several teams, each taking a different view of global warming. Possible positions are (1) we must act now, (2) we need more study before we act, (3) there is no global warming, and (4) human activity is a minor contributor to global warming. Research your position, and be prepared to state your case with data to support your arguments. Hold a debate with the other groups in your class, paying close attention to the information presented by the other groups. Are their arguments persuasive? Are their sources reliable? Are yours?
Concept Introduction: Global warming is the observation that there is rise in the average temperature of the Earth's climate system which is reflected in different natural calamities. Different scientific evidence show that the climate system is warming and that is attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide, CFCs, and other pollutants.
