Question
Chapter 12, Problem 5CLE
Interpretation Introduction
Interpretation:
A brief description of the relations among the terms metallic bond, electron-sea model, valence electrons is to be stated.
Concept introduction:
The metallic bonding is the electrostatic force of attraction between the positivity charged metal cation and freely moving valence electrons. This model is named as electron sea model. The electrons in a metal crystal are free to move, they can easily conduct electricity and heat.

Concerning the Chemical bonds. Choose the INCORRECT alternative:
A) The forces that hold together the atoms of a molecule or a compound are Chemical bonds.
B) The likelihood that an atom will form a chemical bond with another atom depends on the number of electrons in its outermost shell, also called the valence shell.
C) An atom with a valence shell holding eight electrons is chemically stable, which means it is likely to form Chemical bonds with other atoms.
D) All the previous alternatives are incorrect.
