Question
Chapter 12, Problem 46RE
Interpretation Introduction
Interpretation:
The conserved sequences which are important to codon recognition in prokaryotic release factors are to be discussed.
Concept introduction:
The sequences within the genome or proteins that have remained identical across the species from time immemorial are called conserved sequences. They are not affected by any environmental factors.
The RNA (ribonucleic acid) components of the ribosome, the homeobox sequences in the eukaryotes and the sequences of tRNA (transfer RNA) in the bacteria are some examples of the conserved sequences.
