Question
Chapter 12, Problem 28RE
Interpretation Introduction
Interpretation:
Whether the binding of the mRNA occurs with one or both of the ribosomal subunits during the process of protein synthesis is to be determined.
Concept introduction:
The ribosome is a very complex structure, whose machinery is broadly divided into larger and smaller subunits. The entire ribosomal molecular machinery is found in all the living cells.
The ribosome is the main site for the synthesis of the polypeptide chain. The ribosome reads the codons within the mRNA. Then, the corresponding tRNAs are recruited, and the whole process results in the formation of proteins.
