Muscle contraction involves various factors such as calcium ion, troponin, and tropomyosin. Muscle contraction takes place in the following steps: Depolarisation and release of calcium ions, actin and myosin cross-bridge formation, sliding mechanism of actin filaments, and myosin and sarcomere shortening.
