Opioid drugs work to relieve pain in the brain. Neuropeptide (Enkephalins and endorphins) can be found within the brain as well as the spinal cord and these act by binding of the opiate receptor to provide relief in pain. Aspirin is a blood thinner that helps to prevent heart attack and stroke.
