Chapter 10, Problem 17CP
Summary Introduction
To review:
The neural pathways associated with the retina along with the functions of the geniculostirate and tectal system.
Introduction:
The retina of the human eye is associated with the formation of the inverted image of the object from the incident light. The photoreceptor cells present in the retina are the first to be stimulated by the incident light and to transmit nerve impulses. There are various neurons associated with the transmission of nerve impulses to the brain from retina.

Discuss the Neural Growth and Regeneration of the cells of the nerveous system?
Trace the major neuronal pathways to and from the brain. Include the name of the Pathway (or Tract), whether the tract is ascending (sensory) or descending (motor), what it basically does (e.g. type of stimulus) , and where it decussates (i.e. crosses the midline, which not all cross).
Describe and outline the function of sensory neurons, motor neurons, mutipolar neurons and glial cells
