How might social work research inform dialogue on efforts to reform the immigration system? Social Workers research on efforts to reform the immigration system will affect the system in a positive manner. Social workers applying research will allow for them to demonstrate to the state and policy holders that new polices need to be implemented. Social workers having the role of being advocates for vulnerable populations allows for them to be able to speak for the best interest in the immigrant population. The research will demonstrate the needs the population is seeking to be able to succeed (Jansson, 2020). Everyday there are numerous of individuals crossing into the states to be able to have " better chances and lifestyle." This population entering the states already entering a vulnerable state of risk. The immigrant population are entering a country they do not know much about, they do not have a source of income, no resources of any kind. They enter the country seeking resources to be able to prove themselves to live in the country. Many times families are broken up during the process of crossing into the states and children are left behind. Therefore in these case the child, families and the vulnerable population need advocacy to be able to survive in the states. Having social workers apply the research will demonstrate the needs to have policies and programs implemented to ensure the immigration population is being served just as those living in the states now.
