2 Inequality in Education People's current and future well-being in America and around the world are significantly impacted by inequity in educational opportunities, which is a social problem that has persisted for decades. This is in direct relation to the inequalities that still exist between social classes and races at the present time. These inequalities contribute to the creation of a vicious cycle from which these individuals may find it difficult to break free. The cycle is based on the children's preparation for school and is therefore subject to change. Inequities exist because children do not enter school on an equal footing, putting them at a disadvantage from the start. (Sullivan,2016) The large number of academic funds are distributed based on performance. Meaning, a school's "need base" is not what is really considered but rather the percentage of students attending with sufficient academic achievement. When children enter school with inadequate academic abilities, the amount of funding provided to them is reduced. Reduced funding, in turn, reduces the availability of educational materials and the quality of educators. A reduction in educators (teachers) leads to larger classrooms and disproportional student to teacher ratio. A disproportional ratio infers stress for both teachers and kids alongside an overwhelmingly busy curriculum and so on etc. These injustices persist because of a lack of awareness among those unfamiliar with the subject and, consequently, a lack of regard for those who are knowledgeable about the subject. According to sociological theory, any organization or establishment, irrespective of size, must focus on the social inequality, as a whole or unit collectively engaged in communication as well as action. to survive and flourish. Some argue that if there were no inequalities, the division of labor would be more difficult to achieve in a democratic society. Additionally, it is
2 recommended that a variety of incentives be provided to encourage employees to put in the effort necessary to rise to the top of their respective organizations' hierarchies in order to attract personnel to both significant and non-essential responsibilities. (Oxford,2021) Many social issues can be ultimately avoided when addressed at the source or before development. An example being the fact that people are far more likely to successfully learn a new language before age 5 due to the brain’s neurological capacity of intake and retention being so uniquely complex and active. this allows the mind to be more open and accepting than the mind of an adult attempting to learn a new language because the mind is already somewhat shaped and thus has a guided or for this matter example, hindered or bias way of reasoning, retaining and or understanding. The point being to adhere to this logic in terms of social issue prevention in the same context to that the before mentioned example. This social issue solution theory would be considered a realistic approach which emphasizes on ease of action by means of educational content as well as ways of implementing it. (Little, 2016). One of the most important functions of a school system is to introduce and guide social learning to its students. The discrepancy of educational inequality and concluding educational outcomes, persists despite historical efforts such as the No Child Left Behind Act, and more sustained alternatives are to be considered necessary to find a solution to not only this social issue but other social issues as well provided that proper teaching, practices and disciplines are began as early as pre-k and carried throughout senior years in high school.
