PSY 108 Module One Activity Template Once you have completed your initial and response posts for the Module One discussion, use the Psychology Undergraduate Discussion Rubric document to complete this template. Contribution to the Learning Community: Would you describe your level of proficiency as Exemplary, Proficient, Needs Improvement, or Not Evident for this element? Justify your response. For contributing to the learning community in my initial post, I would rate my level of proficiency as Exemplary. I provided the community with my experiences and examples of how I can relate to the discussion topic. I provided the community with my EI scores and how they reflect on me. My experiences as a police officer have close ties to psychology and dealing with not only my emotions but as well as the community which I serve. 2. Relevance to Programmatic Themes: Would you describe your level of proficiency as Exemplary, Proficient, Needs Improvement, or Not Evident for this element? Justify your response. For relevance to programmatic themes in my initial post, I would rate my level of proficiency as Exemplary. I stayed on topic and provided experiences/examples to help the audience relate to how my EI scores reflect on those experiences. The discussion topic is about the students EI scores and at least an example of what the student has experienced as far as emotions. I believed I stayed on that topic and explained my scores and how they relate to those experiences. 3. Advancement of Discussion: Would you describe your level of proficiency as Exemplary, Proficient, Needs Improvement, or Not Evident for this element? Justify your response. For advancement of discussion in my initial post, I would rate my level of proficiency as Exemplary. I opened the door for my audience to read my experiences and to view all my EI scores. I believe I provided enough information for my audience to discuss further my scores and experiences and how they relate to the topic. 4. Professional Communication: Would you describe your level of proficiency as Proficient, Needs Improvement, or Not Evident for this element? Justify your response. For professional communication in my initial post, I would rate my level of proficiency as Exemplary. I hope with my experiences and current job assignment that I would not have an issue with being professional and being able to communicate with others in a professional manner. I believe I demonstrated that in this discussion. 5. Timeliness: Would you describe your level of proficiency as Proficient, Needs Improvement, or Not Evident for this element? Justify your response. For timeliness in my initial post, I would rate my level of proficiency as Proficient. I submitted my post and peer review post prior to the deadline as instructed by the Rubic. I do believe sometimes posts can be done sooner to help others with completing their part, like peer 1
reviews, unfortunately this falls on the individual and when they prepare time to complete the task. 6. Norms of Practice for Online Discussion: Would you describe your level of proficiency as Proficient, Needs Improvement, or Not Evident for this element? Justify your response. For norms of practice for online discussion in my initial post, I would rate my level of proficiency as Proficient. I believed I followed the same norms as I have for the past couple years while attending SNHU. I believe I participated in the discussion and provided thoughtful commentary. I always respect diversity and I am aware of my biases and refrain from those ever being an issue in my discussions. In my peer reviews I always try and challenge another’s perspective, especially if it is different from mine. 7. Ethical Usage Practices: Would you describe your level of proficiency as Proficient, Needs Improvement, or Not Evident for this element? Justify your response. For ethical usage practices in my initial post, I would rate my level of proficiency as Not Evident. For this discussion I utilized my own thoughts and words. I did not cite any individual and therefore, citations for this post were not applicable. 2
