Regarding the case study you chose, I would agree that Jim is experiencing depression that have significantly affected him socially and occupationally. It seems that Jim's situation has contributed to his unemployment, unsuccessful business ventures, and limited social support. I think that Jim's tasks should include some coping activities, particularly ones that he is most comfortable. Although, I do like the task of him journaling throughout the week about situations that caused him happiness or sadness. This task will help Jim to identify his triggers and his strengths. Also, I agree that Jim should expand his social network so that he can continue to heal from the unfortunate events in his life. It could be helpful to make one of his tasks to participate in group sessions with other individuals who have shared experiences.
