Sacco and Vanzetti: Definition: They were italian men who were accused of robbery and the murder of at Slater and Moril shoe factory in South Braintree Significance: They were accused of the murder and the robbery because they were immigrants and they were also found gulity Quota Acts: Definition: It was a limitation of immigration in the united states

Significance: Only 2 percent of the people of each nationally already living in the United States are allowed to immigrate Scopes Trial: Definition: Scopes went on trial for teaching evolution in school Significance: Back then teaching evolution in school was illegal because of a cultural religious backlash Prohibition/18 th Amendment: Definition: It banned people from drinking alcohol which actually caused more crimes Significance: The people who advocated for the government to ban alcohol thought that it would be best for society since it was causing health problems but it actually caused more crimes and more problems.
