Providers Healthcare Policy Stakeholders           Healthcare stakeholders are entities that are important to the healthcare system and can be affected by healthcare reforms (Ritz et al., 2014). Providers work within policy outlines to supply health services and manage patient health information. They play a vital role as advocates for patients and families and aid patients in maneuvering through a complex medical system to obtain the most patient-centered care while still being cost-effective. They also coordinate patient care with other providers while also managing their own operations and finances. Their perspective is influenced by their care-giving relationship with patients and their supplier relationship with payers (Ritz et al., 2014). As a healthcare policy stakeholder providers have direct contractual duties and responsibilities towards their patients, in contrast to other stakeholders. Providers are paid for their services, but the doctor-patient relationship is a sacred trust that goes beyond money.           Healthcare policy is the process of developing and enforcing laws, rules, and regulations that govern a country's healthcare system, which includes medical professionals, insurance, pharmaceuticals, and health information technology. It has an impact on patients’ access to care as well as the quality of care they receive, affecting their health (Ballotpedia,n.d.). Healthcare policy issues include efficiency, vulnerable group coverage, and public healthcare spending control.           Providers can influence healthcare policy because they offer an insider's perspective that educates government representatives and policymakers since they work closely with patients. They can help in identifying problems with the current healthcare system, proposing solutions, and advocating for new laws to improve patient health and safety (Rogers, 2022). For example, gastroenterology is a rapidly expanding field with a strong emphasis on cancer prevention, including new treatments for inflammatory bowel disease and viral hepatitis. To accommodate patient care guidelines, outdated laws need to change due to the field's broad practice. Physicians, who make up less than 3% of Congress, often lack experience, have limited time, and follow a medical tradition that promotes apolitical behavior (Abbasi, 2019). Professional GI societies, such as the American Gastroenterological Association and the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease, play a significant role in public policy by educating lawmakers and promoting legislation in gastroenterology, which has a direct impact on patient interests and well-being (Abbasi, 2019).           Healthcare stakeholders, including providers, play a crucial role in healthcare reforms by advocating for patients and managing patient health information. They also influence healthcare policy by offering an insider's perspective, finding problems, proposing solutions, educating lawmakers, and advocating for new laws to improve patient health and safety.           In conclusion, Providers are critical healthcare policy stakeholders who provide services and manage patient health information. They advocate for patients and families, navigating the complex medical system to supply cost-effective care. Their
perspective is influenced by their interactions with patients as caregivers and as suppliers to payers. They can influence healthcare policy by identifying system problems, proposing solutions, and advocating for new laws.   References: Abbasi, S. Q.
