Report
When it comes to healthcare stakeholders, the patients, physicians, employers, insurance companies, pharmaceutical firms, and government, with all these stakeholders, physicians are the top stakeholders in the healthcare field. They are the principal stakeholders because they contribute or bring the other stakeholders into the facility. Physicians give patients quality care by giving them drugs from the pharmacy department of the facility or even by surgery, which allows the hospital to employ individuals to assist the doctor with surgery. Doctors can be used on the nursing floors to provide patients with quality care by diagnosing them, seeing symptoms, and giving medicine so they can get better and go home. They provide health services to patients and maintain health information about them ( Althauser, C & Wilson, K (2014). Sure, doctors are surgeons, allowing doctors to bring in outpatients and perform surgery at a facility they're authorized to practice at to provide quality care and bring in revenue for the hospital. Bringing outpatients allows doctors to use acceptable, or "in-network," insurance for patients to do the procedure. A physician can influence healthcare policies by providing quality patient care. The healthcare system consists of services provided by medical professionals to diagnose, treat, and prevent mental and physical illness and injury (Ballotpedia. n.d). That is how a doctor influences these patients: trusting them during surgeries and making sure they are up to their medical practice and are authorized. Doctors can also influence staff by showing how to care for patients and giving medicines to treat illnesses. Physicians allow the hospital to function due to the practices they provide to the hospital. These practices bring in more patients, allowing more revenue to come into the facility. My role in healthcare policy is to maintain the quality of life for our patients at the facility where I work. I am a surgical technologist, working directly with surgeons to provide quality patient care. Sterility, safety, and care are the healthcare policies I follow. Without the surgeons and patients, I couldn't give the quality care we do. Reference: Ballotpedia (n.d.).  Healthcare policy in the United StatesLinks to an external site.
