I chose the social media mockup as my key output. The social media mockup is a visually appealing representation of the Faculty of Business and Communication Studies Research Events Working Group's brand. It includes graphics, concise text, and branding elements designed for sharing on various social media platforms. To me, it speaks on my showcases my skill set of creativity while providing my skillset of social media planning and management, and helping a local business to exponentially grow their reach. As someone who is passionate about brand management and creativity, I feel social media is the best way to display both passions. Alignment with Excellence
The social media mockup aligns with the standards of professional excellence in public relations and communication in three ways: visual appeal, clear messaging, strategic use of brnding elements, and social media planning and management skills. Through visual appeal the
mockup employs engaging visuals, adhering to the principles of design and aesthetics in communication (Smith, 2021). Professional social media management and compelling visuals align with the public relations professional standard of practicing public relations to the highest standards (CPRS, n.d.). The inclusion of the logo, tagline, and consistent branding elements in the social media posts demonstrate a commitment to brand management, which is a key aspect of
professional communication as well. The social media mockup I created displays proficiency in social media planning and management as well, as it is designed for effective dissemination on platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. As has been showcased in many public relations
courses, social media continues to be one of the most effective ways for brands and organizations
to grow their reach and align with its publics. Alignment of Portfolio Worthy Content
The social media mockup is a great inclusion in my professional portfolio, as it effectively showcases a range of valuable skills and creativity. The creative design demonstrates a keen sense of visual appeal, aligning with the high standards of creativity expected in public relations. Moreover, the mockup underscores a proficiency in social media planning and management, strategically tailoring content for platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn, which are crucial platforms in growing a brand’s reach. What makes this output particularly noteworthy is its tangible impact in enhancing the visibility and reach of the Faculty of Business and Communication Studies Research Events Working Group.
