The similarities and differences between informational and literary texts: Although information is conveyed to readers in both literary and informative works, their goals, structures, and styles are very different. The main goals of literary writings, such plays, novels, and poetry, are creative and aesthetic. To arouse feelings and provide entertainment, they frequently use narrative components including characters, story, and environment. On the other hand, factual information is intended to be presented in informational materials, such as reports, articles, and textbooks. These writings concentrate on providing information in a clearer, more impartial manner, whether it be facts, explanations, or analyses. Informational writings place greater emphasis on accuracy, clarity, and the dissemination of information than literary texts, which tend to use language that is more subjective and imaginative in an effort to evoke emotional reactions. Effect on Reading Comprehension Teaching and Learning Strategies: The way that literary and informative texts are differentiated has a significant impact on how reading comprehension is taught and learned. Teachers frequently place a strong emphasis on the interpretation, analysis, and investigation of literary techniques while dealing with literary texts. Pupils are urged to investigate the motivations of the characters, comprehend the writing style, and examine the subtleties of language in order to extract meaning. Literary analysis frequently involves discussions of themes, symbolism, and character development. On the other hand, tactics for gathering and comprehending information are employed when teaching reading comprehension through informational texts. Pupils are assisted in recognizing key concepts, understanding specifics, and determining the author's intent. Critical thinking, assessing the evidence, and information synthesis are emphasized. It is common practice to use graphic organizers, summary strategies, and comprehension questions that center on factual memory and understanding. Understanding the distinctive qualities of every text type enables teachers to modify their methods of education and guarantee that students acquire the abilities required for successfully understanding both literary and informative texts.
