Hello Jaime,
Thank you for your post! You did a respectable job summarizing and evaluating the research article you read. For research to be considered justified, sufficient evidence about the studied issue must be provided (Walden University, n.d.). You mentioned the researchers cited 65 resources. The researchers had an adequate number of resources to look at. Nonetheless, 42 65 resources were outside the last five years, making them insufficient. When research is considered grounded, it can expand or challenge existing findings (Walden University, n.d.). Wilhelmy et al. (2016) reported that previous research has examined impression management efforts. The researchers also pointed out that earlier studies did not focus on how applicants use impression management but rather on interview impression management. Wilhelm et al. (2016) expanded and challenged these previous research findings by looking at how interviewers' impression management should be different from the applicant's impression management. The researchers realized that previous studies needed a theoretical model to help understand the why and how which led them to include the grounded theory model. An original research study should address a significant gap in existing research literature and practical applications
(Walden University, 2020). Wilhelm et al. (2016) expanded on previous research findings and brought a new perspective on the impression management of interviewers. Walden University. (2020). Identifying a doctoral research problem: Finding a gap. [Speech transcript]. Walden University Library.
