To fill:
The concept map with appropriate words to summarize the relationship between the plasma membrane and water.
Introduction:
The cell membrane is selectively permeable. It has control over what molecules or ions can enter or leave the cell. The movement of molecules from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration and osmosis is the special type diffusion of water across a selectively permeable membrane.

Answer to Problem 5MI
The concept map with appropriate words given in the table:
S.No. | Correct words |
1 | in and out of the membrane |
2 | Create |
3 | Maintain |
4 | Regulation of the cell’s internal environment |
5 | Diffusion of water across the membrane. |
Explanation of Solution
Cellular transport is the movement of substances across the plasma or cell membrane either into or out of the cell. The plasma membrane is semi-permeable. It allows some things to pass through them but prevents other things from passing through. The selective nature of the cell membrane is to regulate the passage of materials into and out of the cell. The cell membrane most often works specifically on the concentration of water and different types of ions. The cell through its membrane maintains its internal environment, which called as homeostasis.

The researcher chooses randomly 400 women to participate in this experiment for 9 months of their pregnancy period. They all need to have the same diet. The researcher designs two groups of 200 participants: One group take the real medication intended to reduce heartburn, while the other group take placebo medication. In this study what are: Independent variable: Dependent variable: Control variable: Experimental group: " Control group: If the participants do not know who is consuming the real pills and who is consuming the sugar pills. This study is It happens that 40% of the participants do not find the treatment helpful and drop out after 6 months. The researcher throws out the data from subjects that drop out.
