Explanation of Solution
Diffusion is defined as the net movemnt of particles from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration.
Dynamic equilibrium is a condition in which the net movent of the particles is zero, however, the movement of is continuous.
Facilitated diffusion is a type assisted passive tranport of particles across the membrane by the transport proteins.
Osmosis is the diffussion of water across a selectively permeable membrane.
An isotonic solution is defined as a solution that has same concentration as of the cell. When the cells are placed in this solution, their shape remains same.
An hypotonic solution is defined as a solution that has low concentration of solute as of the cell. When the cells are placed in this solution, the cells become swollen due to movement of water in to the cells.
An hypertonic solution is defined as a solution that has high concentration of solute as of the cell. When the cells are placed in this solution, the cells shirnk due to movement of water out of the cells.
Active transport is the movement of substances against the concentration gradient and it requires energy.
Endocytosis is defined as a process of intake of extracellular susbtance by capturing them in a transport vesicle formed surrounded by the plasma membrane.
Exocytosis is the secretion of the materials outside the cells, it is opposite of endoocytosis.
