For example, If we multiply a price $x$ by $0.9$ and then by $1.1$ , our result will be

  $x\cdot 0.9\cdot 1.1=x\cdot 0.99=x\cdot 99\%$

So, the final price will be $99\%$ of the original price, not $100\%$ .
