Interpretation:Explain the process of QFD (quality functional deployment) with example/s of unsatisfactory deployment.
Concept Introduction:Customers of any product/service need/require certain characteristics which are called ‘voice of the customer’. Such characteristics are to be converted to operational characteristics which can be built (deployed) into the product/service to satisfy the customer. This is a modification of the cause & effect diagram-which technical characteristics will cause the effective satisfaction of which customer need.
QFD is a structured process by which this deployment is carried out. The process carried out early in the development phase, ensures meeting of the customers’ voice.
