The general rules for writing name of binary compound are as follows:
- To write the positive ion first.
- The write the name of negative ions after positive ion.
- The positive ions always write as only the element’ name, there is no change required.
- In the name of negative ion add−ide when write its name in the binary compound. Their number is indicated by prefixes, di-, tri-, tetra-, etc.
