Chapter 41.4, Problem 6LO
Summary Introduction
To contrast: The continuous conduction with saltatory conduction.
Introduction: A living organism responds to the external or internal stimulus with the help of the nervous system. The nervous system takes in the information given by the stimulus which is then transmitted to the spinal cord and the brain where it is integrated. The measured voltage across the plasma membrane is known as the membrane potential. The changes in the membrane potential result in the transmission of the signals.
