Introduction:

The monoecious flowers prevent self $-$ pollination by using the techniques to detect the genetically similar gametes and this process is called as Self $-$ incompatibility. It is of two types: Gametophytic self $-$ incompatibility ( $\text{GSI}$) and Sporophytic self $-$ incompatibility ( $\text{SSI}$).
