What is the testing procedure for diesel systems as outlined by the national environment protection (diesel vehicle emissions) measure?
The primary difference between these non-road (off road) types of diesel fuel is one contains a red dye and one does not. Otherwise the two diesel fuels are relatively identical. In some states there may be a higher level of sulfur in the off road diesel. From a regulatory perspective, the off road diesel tank is not regulated and is not required to have the leak detection, spill prevention or overfill prevention that a regulated tank is. Why is regular diesel fuel regulated (underground storage tanks) and off-road not regulated?
