Concept explainers
The definition of the quantum and two examples of the quantum.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
The smallest unit of some quantity to explain the quantity at very basic level. The quantity may be matter, light or momentum. The smallest unit to explain the light is photon and the smallest units to explain the matter are electrons.
The photon and electrons are the quantum for the light and matter. The photon is the packet of light energy and electrons are the basic unit of the matter.
Conclusion:
The smallest unit to explain some quantity at microscopic level is the quantum for that unit and two examples of the quantum are photon and electrons.
