Introduction:  A structure that constitutes a group of cells that are involved in the secretion and release of hormones is called as the gland. There is two general classifications of glands, endocrine and exocrine. Endocrine glands are devoid of ducts and are involved in the secretion and release of hormones directly into the bloodstream. However, in contrast, exocrine glands have ducts and secrete, and release the hormones into that duct. Pancreatic gland has both endocrine and exocrine glands.
